MTK Chowder House opens at American Trash

Manhattan, New York, May 17, 2010 – American Trash, an iconic Upper East Side landmark located at 1471 1st Avenue, celebrated the anticipated opening of MTK Chowder House with a packed house of family, friends and loyal patrons. MTK’s menu brings Montauk’s shore to this neighborhood favorite, offering a twist on traditional bar fare with signature lobster rolls, perfectly fried Ipswich Clams and N.E. Clam Chowder.

Owners, Mark Ostrowsky, CIA graduate and Brian Woods, are excited to bring this venue to the neighborhood. Together they sampled the lobster roll with the hungry crowd. “The soft buttery roll with a generous amount of North Atlantic lobster is a shore favorite. We are thrilled to bring that loved taste of summer to MTK year-round,” said Woods.

Ipswich full bellied clams offered as an entrée or a side dish, calamari, shrimp, juicy burgers w/ crispy fries, hotdogs, brats with sauerkraut, and traditional wings with homemade spicy sauce round out the menu.

The bar offers a surprisingly large selection of beers from Pabst to Delirium Tremens on tap and with Direct TV you won’t miss a game. “American Trash has a more than 21 year history in the neighborhood of offering great beer, games, and events – and through MTK, we are proud to add great food to the list,” said Ostrowsky.
